CROSSOVER DEBUT
Sunday's game represents the first of six occasions this season (all Sundays) on which the Warriors will wear their Crossover alternate uniforms. The new Crossover alternate uniform harkens back to the "Run TMC" era Warriors of the early 90’s and features the very same diagonal lettering worn by the team then, mixed with the color scheme and design of the jerseys the team wears on the road now. The diagonal lettering used on the Crossover alternate uniforms was used during the 1988-89 to 1996-97 seasons. These jerseys not only symbolize a crossover of eras, but also a nod to Run TMC’s Tim Hardaway, who was known for his "Killer Crossover."

KEEP SHOOTING
Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant ranked first, second and eleventh in the league, respectively, in total three-pointers made last season, and thus, you’d expect Golden State to be one of the better three-point shooting teams in the league in the new season ahead. Unfortunately for the Warriors, that hasn’t been the case thus far, as Golden State is just 16-of-61 (.262) from beyond the arc through their first two games, and the aforementioned threesome is only 11-of-41 combined (.268). Based on the career trajectories of all players involved, one would naturally expect their shooting percentages to progress toward the mean eventually, and the only way to get there is to keep taking shots. Very few of the Warriors’ three-point attempts have been forced, bad shots, so they’re getting quality looks. It’s just a matter of making those good looks count, and that will likely happen sooner rather than later.

PHOENIX SCOUTING REPORT
The youth movement continues in Phoenix, as the Suns have a nice collection of young talent, but will likely face an uphill battle to reach the postseason this year. After finishing 23-59 a year ago, Phoenix added Dragan Bender, Marquese Chriss and Tyler Ulis in June’s Draft, and bolstered their roster with a veteran presence by signing Jared Dudley and former Warrior Leandro Barbosa in free agency. Those additions join a roster that already features young talents like Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight and Devin Booker, giving Phoenix a solid base to build upon as they look to make the climb back up the Western Conference standings. Coming off a tremendous rookie season, Booker appears ready to take the next step and solidify himself as one of the best young players in the game today. He is a deadly shooter, and the Warriors will need to stay attached to him on the defensive end if they hope to defeat the Suns for the eight-consecutive time.
