GAME LEADERS

The Warriors got back on the winning track on Thursday night, earning a 116-105 victory over the visiting Portland Trail Blazers. Stephen Curry was phenomenal, notching the ninth 40-point game of his career with 45 points and nine assists. 24 of those points came by way of eight three-pointers to give him a total of 276 treys on the season, breaking his own single-season record of 272 set back in 2012-13. Klay Thompson added 26 points and three splashes of his own, while Draymond Green recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Entering the game needing four three-pointers to tie his own record and five to break it, Stephen Curry wasted no time going for the history books in this one, notching nine points on three treys in the first 5:24 of action. The third of those splashes gave the Warriors a 19-11 lead, but Portland responded with a 16-8 run to tie things up at 27 with less than 30 seconds remaining in the opening frame. However, Curry was able to get off one more three-pointer in the final seconds to tie his record and send the Warriors into the second quarter with a 30-27 advantage.

The Trail Blazers owned the first half of the second quarter, as a Damian Lillard jumpshot completed a 22-6 run to give Portland a 49-36 lead (their largest of the game) with 5:27 remaining. Curry then initiated a blistering Golden State response, sinking two consecutive three-pointers to break the record and spark a 21-5 run over the remainder of the quarter to send the Dubs into halftime leading 57-54.
