The Warriors came away with a statement victory on Wednesday night, defeating the East-leading Hawks 114-95.

GAME LEADERS

In a battle of the best in the East against the best in the West, the Warriors prevailed on Wednesday night, defeating the visiting Atlanta Hawks 114-95. Both Harrison Barnes and Andre Iguodala recorded season-highs with 25 and 21 points, respectively, while Stephen Curry contributed a double-double with 16 points and 12 assists.

Things started out better for the Hawks than they ended, as Atlanta recorded the first four points of the contest. The Warriors quickly responded with an 8-0 run, followed by an Atlanta 9-0 burst to put the Hawks up 13-8 with 7:32 left in the first quarter. Amazingly, that would be the Hawks largest lead of the entire game, as the Dubs scored the next 12 points to get back on top on their way to closing out the opening frame with a 28-24 lead.

After a Shaun Livingston jump shot put the Warriors up 32-26 just 47 seconds into the second quarter, Atlanta scored the next five points, all on free throws, to pull within a single point with 9:42 remaining in the first half. That was as close as the Hawks would get for the duration of the game, as the Warriors seized control, and never gave it back. A Stephen Curry four-point play put the exclamation mark on a Golden State 14-7 run that put the Warriors up 50-40 with 4:22 left in the half. A Draymond Green three-pointer with 44 seconds left would increase their lead to 12, as the Dubs took a 59-47 advantage into halftime.
