Draymond Learns to Code at Oakland High School

Established 1946 | 7-time NBA Champions

Versatility is nothing new for Draymond Green, so it’s no surprised he spent part of Wednesday morning adding a new skill to his repertoire: code.

The do-it-all Warriors forward visited Oakland High School and spent some time learning how to code with students from the school’s computer science program. In addition, Green spoke at a school assembly to inspire students to challenge themselves to learn new skills, adapt to evolving technology and build their self-confidence through hard work.

Green’s school visit served as the launch of Warriors Code, the team’s new community program that aims to address a lack of diversity in the technology sector by making computer science available to underrepresented Bay Area students. In partnership with Oakland Unified School District and Code.org, Warriors Code will inspire and engage students of color to forge equitable paths in science and technology.
