The Warriors have long had a reputation for being one of the most fun teams to watch in the NBA. And during the 2013-14 season, they were particularly exciting. The team came back to win seven games in which they trailed by at least 15 points. And if that's not eough, there were 17 regular season games that were decided by two points or less, not to mention the six game-winning shots in the final three seconds of a game.
So what was your favorite game of the season? The warriors.com staff shares some of their favorites in this three-part series, with games being listed in no particular order.
Beating L.A. On Opening Night - October 30, 2013

Being The Bay’s Team, there really is no better way to start a season than to BEAT L.A. And that the Warriors did just that, dominating the Lakers 125-94 in front of a highly charged Opening Night crowd at Oracle Arena. Klay Thompson had the hot hand in this one, making his first four 3-point attempts of the season on the way to a career-high 38 points, and this give-and-go by Andre Iguodala and David Lee brought the house down.
Iguodala Returns to Philly - November 4, 2013

With Andre Iguodala playing the first eight seasons of his NBA career with the 76ers, nobody would question him for being a little more amped up than usual when the Warriors played an early season game in Philadelphia. At the time, the 76ers were the talk of the league, having beaten the defending champion Miami Heat on Opening Night and reeling off two other wins to start the season with a 3-0 record. Iguodala, however, made it clear that the Sixers would not be going 4-0. The veteran swingman connected on a career-high seven 3-pointers for a season-high 32 points in the 110-90 victory that improved the Warriors to 3-1 in the young season. While the game did feature a great scoring performance from Iguodala and a triple-double from Stephen Curry, the one play that sticks out the most is this ridiculous behind-the-back pass from Iguodala that resulted in an easy layup for David Lee.
The Trend Setter - November 14, 2013

A national TV audience was treated to one of the most dramatic finishes of the season. Although it was more than five months before the start of the playoffs, this game had a postseason feel to it with a team on the rise (Warriors) taking on a Western Conference power with an MVP candidate. Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook capped a 14-point fourth quarter comeback with a clutch 3-pointer that put the Thunder ahead with 2.3 seconds left in the game, but Andre Iguodala had the answer for the Warriors, sending Warriors fans home happy and social media into a frenzy with the most clutch shot of the young season. His turnaround jumper as time expired lifted the Warriors to a 116-115 victory, and it was the first of six game-winners for the Warriors in the 2013-14 season. In addition, the shot capped the first of three memorable games against the Thunder this season, one of which was decided by another last second shot by Westbrook.
The Comeback - December 3, 2013

Sometimes you lose games you’re supposed to win, and this certainly had the look of one of those games. The Warriors fell behind early and for two and a half quarters their performance was downright disappointing. Their execution was poor and they were being thoroughly outplayed by a Raptors team that had been four games under .500 and losers of three straight games. The energy just wasn’t there for the Warriors, and they trailed by 27 points early in the second half. But then momentum changed and the Warriors began stringing together defensive stops and made shots of their own. And even though the team was still down by 18 points entering the fourth quarter, they were fully prepared to make a comeback, and the Oracle Arena crowd was well aware of that. The Warriors took complete control of the game in the fourth quarter, going 8-for-11 on 3-pointers and out-scoring the Raptors 42-15 in the period. The Dubs won the game 112-103, marking the largest margin of victory in a regulation game in NBA history for a team that trailed by at least 18 points entering the fourth quarter.
Curry Beats the Mavs: Part 1 - December 11, 2013

The Warriors trailed by as many as 18 points and were down by 12 points in the fourth quarter before Stephen Curry really got it going. Curry had 16 points in the final period, including a game-winning jumper with 1.5 seconds left that capped a 33-point, 10-assist performance. The shot lifted the Warriors to a 95-93 win over Dallas, and it wasn’t the only time that Curry delivered a dagger to Dallas.
Holiday Spirit - December 25, 2013

Christmas Whiteout, multiple ejections and a game that went down to the wire – the Warriors’ 105-103 victory over the Clippers had it all, including some extracurriculars after the final buzzer. After Harrison Barnes put the Warriors ahead with a pair of free thows with 1:09 remaining, both teams went scoreless the rest of the way, and Klay Thompson made the defensive play of the game when he blocked a Chris Paul shot attempt on the game's final possession.
The Birth of #FullSquad - December 27, 2013

The Warriors dominated their division rival in the second quarter and Stephen Curry notched his second of four triple-doubles during the 2013-14 campaign, but this game makes the cut for what happened after it. During a postgame interview, David Lee was looking for verification of a stat when the team had its Opening Night starting lineup, and the #FullSquad movement was born. The hashtag began trending on social media sites and the Warriors validated the moniker by going 30-13 when their starting five consisted of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, David Lee and Andre Bogut.
Beating the Heat - January 2, 2014

The Warriors’ first game of 2014 was perhaps their best game of the season, as they took down the defending champs123-114 in Miami. The team’s second straight road win over the Heat was the seventh of 10-straight victories for the Warriors, who were in the midst of their 6-1 road trip. Stephen Curry and David Lee each had 30-point double-doubles and the Warriors shot 56.1 percent from the field and never trailed after the second quarter.
Iguodala Keeps the Streak Alive - January 3, 2014

Playing on the back end of a back-to-back after coming up with a big win in Miami the night before, the Warriors were primed for a letdown in Atlanta. And for three quarters, that’s exactly what it was. The Warriors trailed by 15 points with less than seven minutes remaining, but then the team got it rolling. Stephen Curry had 14 points and five assists in the final period and the Dubs closed out the game on a 25-9 run, capping the 101-100 win in Atlanta with Andre Iguodala's game-winning 3-pointer as time expired.
Curry Delivers to Beat Boston - January 10, 2014

Just a week after Iguodala’s second buzzer beater to win a game this season, Stephen Curry matched that game-winner total by knocking down left wing jumper to give the Warriors a 99-97 win over the Celtics. The shot, which came in the team’s first game back after a 6-1 road trip, saved a game in which the Warriors let the Celtics come all the way back from a 13-point deficit.
Warriors Beat L.A. Convincingly - January 30, 2014

Andrew Bogut controlled the interior and the Warriors had their way with the Clippers in a 111-92 win at Oracle Arena. Bogut had 14 points, 17 boards and three blocks and the Dubs out-scored Los Angeles in the paint 66-22. The Warriors put the game away with a 16-2 run to open the third quarter and held the Clippers to just one made field goal in the third quarter.
Mo Speights Night - February 10, 2014

Andre Iguodala had a big night against the Sixers in November, but it was another former Philly player that torched his old team when the two clubs met at Oracle Arena. Marreese Speights had Oracle Arena abuzz, going 12-for-15 from the floor for a career-high 32 points. Although Speights’ playing time fluctuated throughout the season, he proved ready for this moment and at one point scored 17 of 18 Warriors points in the second quarter. The Warriors cruised to the 123-80 victory, enjoying their largest margin of victory of the season.

It was only fitting that in the last game before the All-Star Break, a pair of players bound for New Orleans made the two biggest plays of the night when the game mattered most, but in the end it was LeBron James who had the last laugh as the Warriors lost a heartbreaker to the Heat 111-110. After Stephen Curry converted a three-point play to put the Warriors ahead by two with 14.6 seconds left in the game, James milked the clock and delivered a last-second 3-pointer for Miami. James’ game-winner spoiled a Warriors comeback that saw the team recover from a 21-point deficit in the third quarter and another nine-point deficit in the fourth period.
O'Neal Denies the Rockets - February 20, 2014

What was better: the block or the stoic stare down? Jermaine O’Neal’s block on Chandler Parsons’ dunk attempt with 25 seconds left in the Warriors’ 102-99 overtime win over the Rockets proved to be the defensive play of the game on a night in which both teams shot less than 40 percent from the field. David Lee had a big game with 28 points and 14 rebounds and Stephen Curry forced overtime with a driving layup in the final seconds of regulation, just after Houston’s James Harden put the Rockets ahead with a jumper from the top of the key. O’Neal’s block preserved a big win for the Warriors, one that snapped Houston’s eight-game winning streak.

One year and a day after he had 54 points at Madison Square Garden, Stephen Curry had a triple-double in a 126-103 win in New York. He had 27 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, and did not play a minute in the fourth quarter. Curry’s five 3-pointers were matched by Klay Thompson, and the Warriors won for the fifth time in their first six games after the All-Star Break.

Klay Thompson scored 16 of his 25 points in the fourth quarter, including a turnaround baseline jumper with 0.6 seconds left that gave the Warriors a 98-96 win in Indiana. The road win was against the team with the best record in the NBA at the time, and it was the Dubs' 15th of 17 games decided by two points or less during the regular season.
Splash Brothers Key Comeback in Portland - March 16, 2014

The Splash Brothers combined for 51 points in the second half and the Warriors overcame an 18-point deficit in the third quarter to pull out a dramatic 113-112 win in Portland. Klay Thompson made a go-ahead 3-pointer with 11.9 seconds left in the game and the Warriors caught a break with Portland’s Nicolas Batum missing both a potential game-tying free throw and a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds. Thompson had 27 points and Curry scored 15 of his 37 points in the fourth quarter of the comeback win.
Curry Beats the Mavs: Part 2 (aka: WE OUT!) - April 1, 2014

The Warriors and Mavericks were two of four teams in the thick of a playoff race in which one of the clubs would be left out of the postseason. The Dubs took a big step in making sure that wouldn’t be them, and it took overtime and a last-second Stephen Curry step-back jumper to make that happen. With Andrew Bogut and David Lee each sitting out due to injury, Klay Thompson stepped up and led the team with 27 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer late in the fourth quarter. There were three lead changes in the final two minutes of overtime, the last of which came just moments before Curry screamed two words to anybody who was listening … “WE OUT!”
The Surprise - April 13, 2014

The Trail Blazers were a near lock to take on the Rockets in the 4-5 matchup in the Western Conference Playoffs, and the Warriors had just clinched their berth in the postseason, so this conference showdown didn’t figure to be a memorable matchup. But we figured wrong. This classic back-and-forth battle, a growing trend between these two teams, had 16 lead changes and three ties. Stephen Curry had 47 points, connecting on seven of the game’s 27 3-pointers, and he assisted Draymond Green’s 3-pointer that sent the game into overtime. More dramatics occurred in the extra period, with the teams changing leads six times in the final three minutes. But in the end, the Warriors fell just short in one of the more entertaining games in the NBA this season.
The Equalizer - April 27, 2014

It wasn’t officially a must-win game, but it might as well should have been. Down 2-1 in the series and coming off a narrow loss in Game 3, the Warriors bounced back with a 118-97 win over the Clippers in front of another playoff-gold crazed crowd at Oracle Arena. Stephen Curry got the party started by making five 3-pointers in the first quarter and the Warriors shot 55 percent while holding a double-digit advantage for the majority of the game.
Survival - May 1, 2014

Facing elimination, the Warriors played far from their prettiest game but still managed to scratch and claw their way to a 100-99 victory. Both teams shot well below 40 percent, but it was the play of Draymond Green that sparked the Dubs to victory. The second-year do-it-all forward had 14 points and a career-high 14 rebounds to go along with some stingy defense that limited Blake Griffin to 8-of-24 shooting. And of course it was none other than Draymond who made the last winning play of the game, tipping a purposefully missed free throw away from the Clippers to preventing Los Angeles from attempting a potential game-winning shot.

Most neutral observers would agree that this was one of the best Game 7s in recent memory, and even though it wasn’t the closest game of the series, it was by far the most well-played (on both sides) contest of the Warriors-Clippers first round matchup. The Warriors led for the majority of the game, but it went back and forth in the final quarter with six lead changes and two ties. Stephen Curry went 16-for-16 on free throws and had a game-high 33 points, while Draymond Green continued his strong postseason play with 24 points, including 5-for-8 on 3-pointers. But ultimately, the Warriors fell short 126-121 and the season came to an end far sooner than anybody in Dub Nation would have liked.
