BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that they have recalled rookies Dwight Powell and James Young from the Maine Red Claws.
In the Red Claws 117-87 victory over Delaware on Wednesday, Dwight Powell tallied 19 points on 7-10 (.700) shooting from the field and nine rebounds in 23 minutes of action. Powell is averaging 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds in 32.3 minutes per game in four contests with the Red Claws this season.
James Young recorded 19 points, including shooting 5-7 (.714) from long range, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 24 minutes. He has appeared in five games for the Red Claws this season and is averaging 22.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals in 32.0 minutes per game, while shooting .458 (22-48) from beyond the arc.
