Celtics Add Larranaga to Staff

BOSTON – The Boston Celtics announced today that they have added Jay Larranaga to their coaching staff as an Assistant Coach. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Larranaga comes to the Celtics from the Erie BayHawks of the NBA Development League where he was their head coach for the past two seasons. As coach with the BayHawks, Larranaga led the team to playoff appearances in both seasons and accumulated a record of 60-40. He also had eight players receive promotions to the NBA during his tenure. Larranaga has also served as an assistant coach at Cornell University and as head coach of the Irish National Team for two seasons. Larranaga played collegiately at Bowling Green University and played professionally in Italy, Spain, France and Greece for 12 years.
