Beginning at 4 p.m., approximately 400 children from the CHA’s family housing developments throughout the city of Chicago arrived for a day sure to raise holiday spirits. The children were treated to lunch and tours of the Shedd Aquarium including a performance of Fantasea, the new aquatic show at Shedd.

Deng also played the role of Santa Claus by purchasing and distributing toys for the children as part of the celebration.

In its efforts to encourage children to feel uplifted during the holiday season, the Bulls partnered with Vienna Beef, Hinckley Springs, Edy’s Grand Ice Cream and Midway Moving and Storage to make this event possible.

As a special treat, McDonald’s also provided free Apple Pie coupons to all the children courtesy of the Black McDonald’s® Operators Association.
