Coach Kidd Dishes Out Turkey Dinners

With the Thanksgiving holiday fast-approaching, Bucks head coach Jason Kidd distributed turkey dinners to 150 Milwaukee-area families at the House of Peace, a Capuchin ministry, on Monday, Nov. 24th. Kidd provided all the food items necessary for a complete Thanksgiving dinner, as well as Bucks knit caps and scarves, to House of Peace pre-registered guests attending the event.

The distribution is part of the House of Peace Holiday Food Basket Program, which includes community partners such as Roundy’s, area businesses and organizations, and participating parishes and schools of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee. In addition to the turkey, the Thanksgiving dinners included stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce and more.

The House of Peace (www.houseofpeacemilwaukee.org), a Capuchin ministry, has been providing food and clothing to Milwaukee’s central city since 1968. The House of Peace serves the community by assisting families and individuals in meeting their spiritual, material and emotional needs. It provides food, clothing and pastoral care to the poor plus houses a medical clinic and legal clinic that serves the same population. The center’s goal is to help families remain together and achieve self-sufficiency. The Milwaukee Bucks organization cooperates and assists the House of Peace on a year-round basis as part of its community relations mission.
