1993 Finals Game 3: Suns top Bulls in triple OT

The Chicago-Phoenix Finals of 1993 seemed the ideal matchup to cap a wonderful 12 months of basketball that included the Dream Team experience in Barcelona as well as thrilling regular season and postseason in the NBA. Jordan and Barkley raised the bar in Game 2, each scoring 42 points – Jordan using a finely-calibrated mid-range game to complement his evasive drives, Barkley taking a sledgehammer to the painted area, leaving everything in his wake. The Bulls outlasted the Suns in this one to take a 2-0 lead, leaving its onlookers to wonder if this dream season was about to wrap in a sweep. But as history would suggest, this odyssey of basketball nirvana was far from complete.
