Reginald Ryedell Bullock was born in Baltimore in 1991. The son of Reggie Bullock Sr. and Danielle Long, Bullock played high school basketball at Kinston High School in Kinston, North Carolina, where he went to three straight state championships, winning two. As a senior, Bullock had 15 points, 10 rebounds and three steals in 2010 state finals, winning the 2010 Associated Press Player of the Year in North Carolina. Bullock moved on to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he majored in communications. Bullock is heavily involved in causes supporting the LGBTQ community and made a $25,000 donation to GLAAD in the summer of 2018 to honor his late sister. As a member of the Detroit Pistons organization, he participated in the Pistons Player Ticket Section which provides tickets to underprivileged groups to attend home games. Reggie Bullock spent three seasons (2010 to 2013) with North Carolina and learned how to be a 3-point sharpshooter under coach Roy Williams. The 6-foot-7 forward came off the bench in 27 games as a freshman. He averaged 6.1 points and 2.8 rebounds and topped out at 18 points in a win over Clemson. On Feb. 27, 2011, Bullock tore the MCL in his left knee and missed the rest of the season. Bullock continued to come off the bench at the start of his sophomore season, but started the final 18 games of the season. He provided 8.8 points and hit 38.2 percent of his 3-pointers. The guard had 17 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in a NCAA Tournament win over Ohio as the team reached the Elite Eight. Bullock became a full-time starter as a junior in 2012-13 and averaged 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. The guard hit 88 3-pointers and converted 43.6 percent of his long-range shots. Bullock scored a season-high 24 points in a win over Maryland. He had three double-doubles in four games near the end of ACC play. Bullock was named to the All-ACC Second Team and declared for the 2013 draft with one season of eligibility remaining.
