Player Bio

Kenneth Lamont Bazemore, Jr., son of Kenneth and Glynis Bazemore, was born in Kelford, North Carolina in 1989. Bazemore's younger brother, WyKevin, is currently an assistant basketball coach at the University of Virginia - Wise. After graduating from Bertie High School, Bazemore took his talents to Old Dominion, where he won the Lefty Driesell Award for being the top defensive player in the nation - and his number 24 hangs on the rafters at ODU's Chartway Arena. Since coming to the NBA, he has embraced charity work and established the Arms Foundation, which aims to empower and inspire youth to pursue their goals and dreams. This is achieved through "engaging programming, unique and strategic partnerships, and decisive investments that foster youth opportunity and success". More information can be found on the organization's website, armsfoundation.org. You can follow Kent Bazemore on Twitter @24Bazemore and Instagram @24Baze. One of the most prolific players in Old Dominion history, Bazemore appeared in a school-record 140 games over his four collegiate seasons. The two-time Colonial Athletic Association Defensive Player of the Year finished his career with averages of 10.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 steals over 26.3 minutes. He also ranks second in conference history for total steals with 250. As a senior, Bazemore averaged 15.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.1 steals per game. And during his junior season, he averaged 2.2 steals and took home the Lefty Driesell Award as the top defensive player in the country. Bazemore went undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft and eventually signed with the Golden State Warriors after draft night.
