Kenneth Lamont Bazemore, Jr., son of Kenneth and Glynis Bazemore, was born in Kelford, North Carolina in 1989. Bazemore's younger brother, WyKevin, is currently an assistant basketball coach at the University of Virginia - Wise. After graduating from Bertie High School, Bazemore took his talents to Old Dominion, where he won the Lefty Driesell Award for being the top defensive player in the nation - and his number 24 hangs on the rafters at ODU's Chartway Arena. Since coming to the NBA, he has embraced charity work and established the Arms Foundation, which aims to empower and inspire youth to pursue their goals and dreams. This is achieved through "engaging programming, unique and strategic partnerships, and decisive investments that foster youth opportunity and success".
