Played in Italy from 2004-2008. Participated
in 2011 Eurobasket Championships for Italy.
Averaged 15.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in five
games. Appeared in 62 games (60 starts) in two
seasons (2006-08) with Armani Jeans Milano
of the Italian A-1 League, averaging 14.0 points
on 45.2 percent shooting from the field and 36.3
percent shooting from beyond the arc. Was
named Euroleague’s Rising Star in 2007-08.
Scored a career-high 29 points vs. Siviglia during
the 2007-08 season. Participated in the 2007
Italian All-Star Game. Signed with Armani Jeans
Milano and played on Ioan with Edimes Pavia
(Italian A-2 League) in 2005-06. Member of the
Italian U-18 National Team, helping lead Italy
to a bronze medal at the 2005 U-18 European
Championships in Belgrade while averaging 10.6
points per game. Made his pro debut at age 16
with Assigeco Casalpusterlengo of the Italian
Serie B-1 League in 2004-05.
PERSONAL LIFE
Nicknamed “The Rooster” (Il Gallo). Father,
Vittorio, played professional basketball in Italy
for a number of teams and was a Milan teammate
and roommate of Mike D’Antoni for eight years.
Favorite athletes include Michael Jordan and
Roger Federer. Played for the Italian National
Team in the 2008 Summer Olympics qualifying
tournament. Lists Michael Jordan, Larry Bird
and Angelina Jolie as the three people he would
most like to have dinner with. Favorite actors
are Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie and
favorite entertainer is Justin Timberlake. Favorite
meal is either sushi or gnocchi with gorgonzola
cheese. Participated in the NBA’s Basketball
Without Borders goodwill tour to Senegal, Africa
in August 2010.
