NBA Transactions: Selected by the Memphis Grizzlies with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on June 26, 2024… Signed a multi-year contract with the Grizzlies on July 6, 2024.

BEFORE NBA

Played four seasons (2020-24) at Purdue, where as a junior and senior he became the first player to sweep every major National Player of the Year award (six total) in consecutive seasons since UCLA’s Bill Walton (1971-72, 1972-73)… His 12 major National Player of the Year trophies rank second in NCAA history behind only Ralph Sampson’s 14… Started all 39 appearances as a senior and averaged 25.2 points, 12.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.2 blocks in 32.0 minutes while shooting 62.3% from the field and 71.1% from the free throw line to lead the Boilermakers to the NCAA Tournament championship game… His 37 points in the tournament final were the most since 1978… As a senior, became the first player to lead the nation in both total points and total rebounds since Hank Gathers in 1988-89 and the first player to lead the nation in scoring and make a Final Four since Oscar Robertson in 1959-60… Tied the second-most free throw attempts in a season in NCAA history (436)… During his four-year collegiate career, competed in 138 games (108 starts) and averaged 18.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.7 blocks in 24.9 minutes while shooting 62.1% from the field… Left Purdue ranked third in Big Ten history in points (2,516) and second in rebounds (1,321)… Individual honors include: Naismith College Player of the Year (2023, 2024); John R. PERSONAL LIFE

Born May 14, 2002 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada… As a member of the Canadian senior men’s national team, helped Canada win the bronze medal in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Canada’s first-ever World Cup medal and first medal at a major global tournament since the 1936 Summer Olympics… Competed at IMG Academy (Fla), helping IMG to the UnderArmour Rise Championship as a senior.. Played hockey and baseball growing up before picking up basketball during his sophomore year of high school.
