Player Bio

Victor Moritz "Moe" Wagner is the son of Beate Wagner and Axel Schulz. He was born in 1997 in Berlin, Germany. Moe has a younger brother, Franz, who -- like Moe -- played college basketball at the University of Michigan. In 2014, Moritz won a gold medal with the German National Team at the European Under-18 Division B Championships. In 2017, Wagner was Germany's leading scorer (16.1 points per game) at the 2017 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship. At Michigan, Wagner was a Sports Management major. The 6-foot-11 big man's name is pronounced MORE-rhet'z VOG-ner. Fans can follow Wagner on Twitter (@moritz_weasley). Wagner averaged a team-best 14.6 points along with 7.1 rebounds while registering double-figure scoring games in all but six appearances during his final season (2017-18) for Michigan. The Berlin, Germany native was named the Big 10 Tournament MVP in 2018, as he led the Wolverines to the tournament title by averaging 15.8 points and 6.5 rebounds. He posted 17 points while shooting 7-of-11 in the tournament title win over Purdue. The center was named to the 2018 NCAA All-Tournament team after averaging 15 points and 7.3 rebounds in six contests while leading Michigan to the NCAA title game. He paced the Wolverines with 24 points and 15 rebounds in defeating Loyola (Illinois) in the Final Four victory. Wagner declared for the 2018 NBA Draft and was selected by the Lakers at No. 25 overall.
