Boban Marjanovic was born in Boljevac, Serbia, Yugoslavia in 1988. He began playing youth basketball with the Boljevac-based club Rtanj. When he was 14, Marjanovic moved to Serbian professional team Hemofarm, playing on their youth squads until the 2005-06 season. "Bobi" has an interest in acting. In 2015, he made a cameo in the Serbian sports drama We Will Be The World Champions. Marjanovic also appeared in the action thriller John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, which was released in May 2019. In 2018, he launched "The Bobi + Tobi Show" along with friend and former teammate Tobias Harris, chronicling the pair's friendship in a web series. Marjanovic has also taken part in charitable activities. In January of 2020, he volunteered his time at the Mesquite Boys and Girls Club in Mesquite, Texas, as part of the Dallas Mavericks' Jr. NBA Clinic. Basketball seemed to be his destiny and he played in youth leagues in Serbia until joining Hemofarm's first team in the second half of the 2005-06 season. He played for CSKA Moscow starting in 2010 when he was 22 years old. In 2011, he helped his team win the Lithuanian League and the Baltic League and was the winner of the Lithuanian Cup. Marjanovic moved to the EuroLeague in 2013-14 and was the winner of the Serbian Cup and an All-ABA League Team member in both 2014 and 2015. In the latter year, he was also the ABA Playoff MVP and won the Serbian Super League MVP for the third straight season. In his final season in Europe, the 7-foot-4 center averaged 25.7 points (on 62.1 percent shooting) and 10.7 rebounds to lead the league. He signed with the San Antonio Spurs in 2015.
