PROFESSIONAL CAREER

DRAFTED: Selected in the first round (27th overall pick) of the 2015 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. HOW ACQUIRED: Acquired from the Los Angeles Lakers along with Jordan Clarkson in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye and Cleveland’s own 2018 protected first round pick (protected 1-3) on February 8, 2018. PROFESSIONAL CAREER: Has appeared in 259 career regular season games (85 starts) over four seasons with the L.A. Lakers and Cleveland…owns career averages of 7.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.25 steals in 22.9 minutes per game…also shooting .539 from the field…has 39 career double-doubles. NOTABLE: Participated in the Verizon Slam Dunk Contest at 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, where he finished in second place.

Parents are Larry Sr. and Jaynee Nance...has an older sister, Casey, who played basketball at the University of Dayton and a younger brother, Pete...Larry Sr., a three-time NBA All-Star, NBA All-Defensive First Team member and winner of the inaugural NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1984, played 13 seasons in the NBA, including over six seasons with the Cavaliers…Nance Jr. wears his father’s retired #22 jersey with the Cavs to honor him…graduated with a degree from Wyoming in criminal justice…prized possession is his Mountain West Championship ring...played for the Revere High School Minutemen in Ohio prior to Wyoming, leading his team to consecutive Suburban League Championship games his final two seasons, while being named Second Team All-Ohio, First Team All-Suburban League and First Team All-District following senior season…the two league championships were the first for Revere High School since 1976...was Revere’s team MVP and left as the all-time leader in blocked shots for a career, season and game…didn’t play organized basketball until he was 13...stood 5’11” and played guard as a high school freshman…diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease as a sophomore in high school but has excelled despite it…looks up to former NFL quarterback David Garrard, who was diagnosed with Crohn’s in 2004 while playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars..
