Report: Russell Westbrook signs 10-year extension with Jordan brand

Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook has inked a 10-year extension with Jordan brand, according to ESPN’s Nick DePaula.

The agreement with the popular shoe company is reportedly the most lucrative endorsement deal ever by any Jordan athlete. DePaula has more details regarding the terms of the deal:

The long-term extension will link the 28-year-old Westbrook with Jordan Brand through as long as the 2025-2026 NBA season. The deal will also include both on- and off-court signature sneakers, new territory for Westbrook. As he’s continued to lead the Air Jordan game shoe each season, the brand launched two off-court geared silhouettes, dubbed the Westbrook 0.1 and 0.2, but had held off on designing a performance signature shoe for the hardwood.

Westbrook’s first signature shoe is currently in the works and is expected to be “flashy” and “unlike anything that Jordan Brand has done before,” DePaula reports.

The reigning Kia MVP also just published his first book titled “Style Drivers,” which highlights his style both on and off the court.

Westbrook’s coming off an historic season in which he averaged 31.6 points, 10.4 assists and 10.7 rebounds to lead OKC to the postseason. With the shoe deal done and his book finished, the question now is if he will sign the approximately $207-million extension that the Thunder reportedly offered him earlier this summer.
