METAIRIE, La. — The New Orleans Pelicans have released shooting guard Archie Goodwin.
The 6-foot-5 Goodwin, whose release was announced Sunday, was originally signed by New Orleans on Nov. 7, shortly after guard Lance Stephenson was informed by doctors that he would need surgery on a groin injury.
Goodwin appeared in three games for the Pelicans, averaging five points in 10 minutes per game. His departure reduces the number of players on New Orleans’ roster to 14.
The Pelicans, who’ve won four of their last six games after a 0-8 start, play in Atlanta on Tuesday night.
