NBA 2K24 Summer League: Jazz fend off Nuggets to stay undefeated

The Utah Jazz defeated the Denver Nuggets, 96-91, at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Wednesday in the NBA2K24 Summer League.

The Jazz enjoyed an excellent start, but they nearly surrendered their lead late in the game. However, they stepped their game up defensively down the stretch. Utah jumped to a 30-16 lead in the first quarter and also won the second quarter by a 25-19 score, but the Nuggets responded by winning the final two quarters, 25-16 and 31-25, respectively. The Jazz managed to stop the comeback bid in the final minutes and secured the victory.

Luka Samanic led the way for the Jazz with 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while Ochai Agbaji ended with 14 points and seven rebounds. Nick Ongenda and Colbey Ross each had 11 points off the bench, and Micah Potter grabbed 10 rebounds along with seven points.

Julian Strawther was the leading scorer for the Nuggets with 21 points, while Hunter Tyson chipped in with a double-double of 19 points and 12 rebounds. Cassius Stanley finished with 13 points off the bench, Jalen Pickett posted 12 points, eight assists and six rebounds, and Collin Gillespie had 10 points, five assists and four steals.

Both teams will return to action Friday, as the Nuggets face the Heat while the Jazz take on the Suns.
