The Grizzlies released their 2024-25 City Edition uniform, with a blend of past and present. In 1974, former ABA commissioner Mike Storen took over the operation of the Memphis franchise, rebranding as the Memphis Sounds to reflect the city’s rich musical heritage. This year’s City Edition uniform celebrates that history, while adding next-generation flare from modern Grizzlies’ teams.
The uniform blends the asymmetrical silhouette of the current Association, Icon, and Statement uniform system with the large ‘cut & sew’ side panel wrapping from right to left, while showcasing the red uniform color base of the past. Pulling Wordmark inspiration from the 1974-75 Sounds jerseys, this uniform adds a pop of ‘Beale Street Blue’ from the current uniforms along with ‘record gold’ from the ‘Memphis Soul’ 2020-21 City Edition uniforms.
