Kawhi Leonard partially tore his right ACL midway through LA’s second-round series with Utah.

LA Clippers All-Star forward Kawhi Leonard underwent successful surgery to repair a partial tear of his right anterior cruciate ligament, the LA Clippers announced Tuesday. There is no timetable for his return.

Partial ACL tears typically take at least three months to heal after surgery. It marks the latest injury for Leonard, who has never played more than 74 games in a season as he’s battled various health setbacks.

Leonard, 30, was injured in the fourth game of LA’s Western Conference semifinal series with the Utah Jazz, in which he scored 31 points as the Clippers won 118-104.

Despite the absence of their leading scorer, the Clippers went on to eliminate the Jazz in six games before pushing the victorious Phoenix Suns to an additional six in the Western Conference finals.

Leonard averaged 24.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.6 assists this season, his second with the Clippers and his 10th overall in the NBA.

Leonard holds a player option for next season as part of the three-year deal he signed with LA in the summer of 2019.
