Jimmy Butler wins point off Carlos Alcaraz at U.S. Open charity event

The Heat star served as an honorary ball boy before taking the court with the world No. 1 at the Stars of the Open exhibition.

Add another clip to Jimmy Butler’s 2023 highlight reel.

At a charity exhibition match leading up to the U.S. Open on Wednesday night, the Miami Heat star served as an honorary ball boy in a match between world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and American Frances Tiafoe.

But Butler didn’t stay on the sidelines. At one point, he grabbed a racket and jumped onto the court for a quick rally with Alcaraz, the reigning U.S. Open champion.

Alcaraz went easy on Butler, but he seemed a genuinely surprised by Butler’s final shot that he couldn’t reach.

The Stars of the Open event, which sold out Louis Armstrong Stadium to the tune of 14,000 people, brought together some of the biggest names in tennis to raise funds for humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.
