How DeMar DeRozan is fitting with the Sacramento Kings offense

DeMar DeRozan's hot start in Sacramento has quickly silenced concerns about his fit with the Kings.

In a 122-107 win over the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, DeMar DeRozan (27 points) became the first Kings player in 25 years to score 20-plus points in his first eight games. The 35-year-old forward is averaging a career-best 25.6 ppg and shooting 38.1% from 3-point range.

DeRozan’s hot start has silenced any doubts about his fit in Sacramento. He has the Kings on a winning track, leading Sacramento to victory in five of their last six games.

Throughout this stretch, the Kings have excelled on both sides of the court and are among the top 10 teams in offensive and defensive efficiency.

Once he gets into space, DeRozan is taking full advantage and posing as a serious threat to defenders.  Even in tight areas near the paint, DeRozan is still able to find ways to get the ball to Domantas Sabonis for easy buckets. Sabonis’ production continues to soar as well, averaging 20.3 points, 13.1 rebounds and 7.3 assists through eight games.

While the season is still young, the questions surrounding DeRozan’s fit with the team have been answered.
