Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams is out indefinitely after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee, the team announced Sunday.

Williams left Saturday night’s 125-119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks late in the fourth quarter with the injury. The 6-foot-6 forward was hurt on a drive to the basket with just under four minutes remaining with the Bucks leading 114-101. He finished 2-for-6 with eight points and seven rebounds in 32 minutes.

He will continue to undergo further evaluation on his knee and additional updates on his status will be provided as appropriate.

Williams appeared in 16 contests (seven starts) this season, recording 10.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 29.9 minutes per game. Williams, a native of Charlotte who the Hornets acquired in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks on Feb. 8, holds career averages of 7.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 380 appearances (108 starts) across six NBA seasons.
