The 2021-22 Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year returned for Game 7 (LIVE, ESPN) of the Eastern Conference finals.
Miami coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters before the game that Tyler Herro, who had missed three straight playoff games with a strained groin, passed the requisite tests with the team’s training staff.
“It’s all hands on deck,” Spoelstra said.
Miami had sorely missed Herro’s shooting ability at times, often relying on Jimmy Butler to turn in historic performances to score enough points in order to stretch this series to a seventh and final game. The former 13th overall pick entered Game 7 averaging 13.5 points this postseason, including 18 points against the Celtics in Game 1.
For the Celtics, defensive player of the year Marcus Smart and center Robert Williams III were also declared available for Game 7 after being originally listed as questionable for the series finale. Smart had been dealing with an ankle sprain and Williams was playing through ongoing knee soreness following surgery.
The winner of Game 7 will go on to face Golden State in the 2022 Finals.
