Chris Paul moves past Gary Payton for fourth in career steals.

Only three players have stolen the ball more in NBA history than Suns point guard Chris Paul, who moved past Gary Payton into fourth place on the career list with his 2,446th theft.

Paul, who led the league in steals six times during a seven-season span from 2007-14, now trails just John Stockton (3,265), Jason Kidd (2,684) and Michael Jordan (2,514).

At his current career average of 2.1 steals per game — good for 10th in NBA history — Paul could pass Kidd for second late next season, which would be his 18th in the NBA.

Paul also continues to inch his way up the assist list, where he currently sits in third place behind Kidd and Stockton after passing Steve Nash in November.
