The Indiana Pacers and Washington Wizards meet for the third time this season tonight in Indianapolis. The two teams split in their earlier meetings.

With the Pacers entering as the favorite, how should we bet this Eastern Conference clash? Let’s dive in.

Washington Wizards

The Wizards limp into Indiana tonight losers of four straight games and seven of their last eight. They’ve had a few bright spots this season, but a team is what its record says it is, and the Wizards’ record says they’re a bottom-of-the-East team that can’t win on the road.

On the season, the Wizards are 5-6-1 against the spread and 3-9 on the moneyline as the visiting team. However, Washington is currently on a six-game road losing streak.

Not only do the Wizards have to deal with their road woes tonight, but they also have to do so without Bradley Beal and Rui Hachimura. Will Barton and Kristaps Porzingis are also listed as questionable.

Washington is 2-7-1 ATS over the course of its last 10 games. The way the Wizards are currently playing makes them an auto-fade in my book. It’s one thing to sport a poor record against the spread, but the Wizards are 1-3-1 as underdogs in their last five games.

Washington cannot be trusted at the betting window.

Indiana Pacers

Coming into the season, most NBA analysts viewed Indiana as a team that would be in tank mode this season. So far, that has not been the case.

The Pacers own a 13-12 record on the moneyline despite winning just twice during their seven-game road trip that ended Wednesday night.

Tonight marks the Pacers’ first home game of December.

Indiana is currently the sixth seed in the East. It’s 14-11 ATS on the season. Unlike Washington, the Pacers have been a solid bet this season. They’re 7-4 ATS and straight up on their home court this season.

The Pacers are one of the teams I’ve been backing so far this season, and I don’t plan on changing that this evening despite Myles Turner being listed as questionable.

These two teams met on opening night in Indiana. The Wizards won that game by seven as 2.5-point favorites. They met in Washington DC a week later, and the Pacers won by 10 despite being five-point underdogs.

Wizards-Pacers Pick

When a point spread seems like a no-brainer, it’s typically not in most cases. The Wizards have played poorly on the road, so I can’t take the points with them.

The Pacers should get a boost from playing at home for the first time this month. They’re are 4-3 ATS and 5-2 straight up in games in which they’ve been the favorite this season.

This should be a rocking chair win for the Pacers.
