The Golden State Warriors got the job done in Game 5 to hold home court. That win puts them one victory away from a fourth NBA title in eight seasons. It also handed the Boston Celtics consecutive losses for the first time this postseason, and the first time since March.
For Boston, turnovers continue to be a huge issue. The Celtics committed 18 total turnovers in Game 5. When the Celtics commit 16 or more turnovers this postseason, they have 1-7 record. Despite the issue of ball security and forcing the handle, the Celtics find themselves as slight favorites to secure a win to extend this series seven games.
Our single game parlay will focus on a big bounce back effort out of the Celtics as a team, and hone in on particular players who look to be in favorable spots.

Jaylen Brown Over 23.5 Points (-115)
Brown has shot the ball well this postseason averaging 22.6 points per game on 46.7% shooting from the floor and 36.7% from beyond the arc. He is coming off a game where he struggled while taking bad shots inside and forcing them up from deep.
This postseason off bad shooting nights, Brown has rebounded in a big way. He followed up a 4-for-13 night in Game 1 of Round 2 by going 11-of-18 including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc against the Bucks in Game 2. Another big standout performance was Brown’s 25 points against the Heat in Game 5 of the Conference finals going 10-of-19 from the floor and 5-of-9 from beyond the arc after a 12-point outing in the previous game.
The Celtics badly need Brown’s impact on the offensive end and if history is any indicator, he looks set for a big night.
Marcus Smart Over 9.5 Assists and Rebounds (-110)
In previous elimination games for Boston, Marcus Smart has had a lot of success logging good assist numbers and securing rebounds.
In Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets, Smart logged five rebounds and 11 assists. The same continued in Game 6 against the Milwaukee Bucks which saw Smart put up seven rebounds and 10 assists.
Furthermore, Game 5 against the Heat saw Smart logging nine boards and five dimes. Although this isn’t necessarily the final game in the series, the Celtics need a win to keep their Larry O’Brien hopes alive.
If betting props individually and avoiding the parlay is your game plan, perhaps consider taking advantage of a nice plus money bet for Smart’s assist total, which is offered on most books at +120 for Over 5.5 assists.
With this parlay already offering enough value if it hits, we will take the safer option and opt for a combined wager of rebounds and assists.
Celtics Team Total Over 106.5 (-110)
It seems pretty obvious if both of these bets cash, it is contingent on the Celtics having a good shooting night. Although we have had some low scoring nights from both squads, the winner in four of the last five games has gone over this total. The lone exception was in Game 5 with the Warriors emerging victorious by a score of 104-94.
In both wins this series, the Celtics shot very well putting up 120 points on 50.6% shooting from the floor and 51.2% from beyond the arc. In Game 3 on their home court, the Celtics shot 48.3% from the floor, 37.1% from beyond the arc and dominated the paint outscoring Golden State 52-26.
I’m expecting much of the same success in this pivotal Game 6 matchup.
