Tuesday’s Best NBA Bets

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook | All wagers are for 1 unit

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers are 7.5-point home favorites against the Cavaliers. If that seems a bit high, it’s because Cleveland guard Donovan Mitchell won’t play tonight due to a hamstring injury. Meanwhile, Caris LeVert is questionable with a knee injury.

That won’t help a Cavaliers team that is already below-average offensively. The Cavaliers have scored just 113.3 points per 100 possessions, which is 18th in the NBA. They’re also grabbing 25.5% of offensive rebounds on the season. That’s only good for 22nd in the NBA.

Cleveland will get to the foul line against the 76ers, and they’ll be sure to limit turnovers. Still, Philadelphia has the better matchup here, defensively. The 76ers are the best at getting to the foul line. They’ll see the charity stripe more than the Cavaliers will. The 76ers have also scored a league-best 121.8 points per 100 possessions.

With the Cavaliers struggling on the defensive glass, the 76ers are in a great position to earn second chances. They’ve grabbed 29.5% of offensive rebounds, while the Cavaliers have allowed 29.7% of rebounds.

Therefore, I like the 76ers to cover the spread with Mitchell out for the game.

Bet: 76ers -7.5 (-110)

Utah Jazz @ Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers have Anthony Davis and LeBron James listed as questionable for tonight’s game. Still, Los Angeles is amid the NBA In-Season Tournament and wants that extra cash. The oddsmakers believe those two will play.

On the other hand, Walker Kessler will not play for the Jazz due to an elbow injury. That’ll hurt Utah’s depth.

The Jazz have dominated the offensive glass, earning 34.7% of offensive rebounds this season. With the Lakers allowing 28.8% of offensive rebounds, Utah should be a force on the offensive glass and earn plenty of second chances. However, the Lakers typically avoid fouling at a high rate and have earned 14.8% of turnovers per game this year.

Los Angeles has held teams to 112.8 points per 100 possessions, which is 13th in the NBA. They’ve been about average defensively this year.

The Lakers will also get to the foul line more often, but they won’t be great on the offensive glass. Los Angeles has earned only 23.6% of offensive rebounds and scored 111.8 points per 100 possessions, which is only 23rd in the NBA.

Still, with the Jazz allowing 120 points per 100 possessions, the Lakers should earn some quality shots. They’ll have to make them.

With that said, the Over 235.5 is my best bet.

Bet: Over 235.5 (-110)
