Cleveland Cavaliers @ Orlando Magic
The Orlando Magic have surprised everyone this season. They have one of the best records in the league. The issue is they have played one of the weakest schedules. That means it is difficult to know how good the Magic are. Bettors will want to be cautious with the Magic until they face better teams.
The Cleveland Cavaliers have plenty of talent. Tonight, they have plus odds to win outright, meaning they have betting value. That value is what we are looking for in these close matchups. The Cavaliers beat the Magic once this season and could do it again tonight.
Bet: Cavaliers Moneyline (+115)
Toronto Raptors @ New York Knicks
The Toronto Raptors are struggling in their first season without Nick Nurse. They have lost four out of their last five games. That inconsistency worries me, even this early in the season. Toronto might be a team to watch as the season continues, but they have low betting value right now.
I have been on the New York Knicks wagon this season. They have shown they can compete with the best teams in the NBA, and they continue to improve. New York has a few players like Jalen Brunson and RJ Barrett, who have transformed into talented scorers. The Knicks are just the better team, and I suggest backing them tonight.
Bet: Knicks -4 (-110)
Minnesota Timberwolves @ New Orleans Pelicans
The New Orleans Pelicans are a good team but have been inconsistent. That inconsistency has been seen in both matchups against the Timberwolves. In one game, they lost by a single point and the other by 21 points. That worries me when they face elite teams.
The Timberwolves are, record-wise, the best team in the league right now. Minnesota has only lost four games all season. To get them at plus money is worth it. Anthony Edwards is a game-time decision, but if he plays, there is even more betting value on Minnesota. Until his availability is known, this is one of the riskier plays that pay out well.
