LeBron James Over 28.5 (-125)
What has made this in-season tournament exciting is that the players are taking it seriously and want to win. It seems like LeBron wants it the most. It would certainly add to his legacy if he led his team to becoming the first NBA Cup Champions. This is going to be a game where he plays significant minutes. Secondly, the Pacers are the most one-dimensional team in the league, as they are first in adjusted offensive ranking and last in adjusted defensive ranking.
Tyrese Haliburton Over 41.4 Points + Assists (-115)
We should also embrace Tyrese Haliburton going into “attack mode.” He has scored 26 or more points in seven straight and at least 30 in four of his last nine. As well as he can score, he can also distribute; his 12.1 assists lead the league, and he’s grabbed a double-double in 15 of 18 games this year. The Pacers have the fastest pace of play, and the Lakers are 11th, so look for a lot of possession for each. Haliburton will get his pointd, and the Lakers are 21st in opponent’s assists percentage, so he will have plenty of those.
Anthony Davis Over 13.5 Rebounds (-120)
As mentioned, the pace of play for each team indicates they will each see a lot of possessions, which means we could expect big numbers on the stat sheet. Davis is coming into this game second in the league with 12.7 rebounds, and has at least 14 rebounds in five straight. For speed, they must sacrifice strength, and the Pacers lack that on the boards; they are in the bottom ten in opponents’ defensive and offensive rebound percentages.
