Nuggets vs. Heat Odds & Picks: Denver's Depth Shows Up in Miami

Ryan Noonan of Betsperts and 4for4Bets is backing the Nuggets on the road tonight in Miami.

The Nuggets head to Miami tonight to put a cap on their three-game road trip. Miami was fairly quiet around the trade deadline despite being rumored to land every possible asset, while the Nuggets solidified their roster with front and backcourt depth that should come in handy tonight and down the stretch. The Nuggets remain atop the Western Conference standings, but the West got better and deeper over the past week, so it was encouraging to see Denver take a proactive step to remain in the top spot.

Nuggets -1.5 (-110, FanDuel)

Thomas Bryant and Reggie Jackson aren’t world-beaters, but they’re exceptional additions to an already-loaded rotation in Denver, and they’re set to make an immediate impact tonight. With Jamal Murray likely out for a few weeks, along with Aaron Gordon’s (rib contusion) questionable status tonight, both Bryant and Jackson should see impactful minutes here against a Heat club that’s struggled with Denver the past few seasons. The Nuggets have won eight of the past night meetings, and to no one’s surprise, two-time reigning MVP Nikola Jokic has filled up the box sheet against Miami.

Miami has been treading water of late, playing in close game after close game, regardless of the strength of their opponent. In fact, nine of their past ten games have been decided by five or fewer points, and they’re coming off an overtime win in Orlando on Saturday. This line has fluctuated a bit around a pick’em, but I’m comfortable laying the points here on the Nuggets.
