Similar to fantasy sports, the goal in Sleeper Picks is to draft a team of players based on who you think will perform better than the field. But with Sleeper Picks, you pick teams of 2-8 players from multiple teams based on your preferences and predict whether those players will score more or less than a predetermined amount. There are a number of ways to play and a variety of strategies to employ, and we’ll guide you through the process each week.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/29/23)

Season record: 45-27

Paolo Banchero (F – ORL): OVER 22.5 points

The reigning Eastern Conference player of the week has been on fire for the Orlando Magic. He is averaging 19.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 0.6 blocks per game on the season but upped his scoring numbers to 23.6 points per game with a .560 field goal percentage over the last five games. He scored at least 23 in each of those games. The total today has been set right on the edge of value, but based on his recent play and a soft Washington Wizards defense, Banchero 23 points still has some intrigue. Washington has surrendered an exploitable 26.08 points per game to the power forward position, making the More the play for Wednesday night.

Domantas Sabonis (C – SAC): OVER 0.5 double doubles

Sabonis finally failed to hit the double double. Strangely enough, he got the 10 assists but dropped just nine points and eight rebounds on .286 shooting from the field. Still, Sabonis double double remains one of the top values on the board. Domantas has recorded a double double in 14 of 16 games and has recorded double digit assists or rebounds in 15. Averaging 19.2 points, 12.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game, Domantas is on his way to another All-NBA season and will continue to be a play here until Sleeper Picks just stops posting the double double total. Remember, this is a line that will see its multiplier drop precipitously before descending into oblivion (aka line expiration), so act fast to avoid disappointment. Dap the More on Domantas for tonight’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Zion Williamson (F – NOP): OVER 23.5 points

Zion has been hot when he has been on the court over his last few contests, averaging 27 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.8 assists over his last five games. He is averaging 23.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists on the season as a whole. He has been set at 23.5 for tonight’s contest against the Philadelphia 76ers. Based on recent form, the More is the play, but based on season average, this is a Less play. The matchup is what pushes this over the top as a More. Philadelphia has relinquished 24.11 points per game to the power forward position this season, making this a line to attack. The 76ers are not facing off against All-Star level fours every night, so their average against is certainly exploitable. Zap the More on Zion for Wednesday night.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
