Welcome to Sleeper Picks! Sleeper’s newest offering promised plenty of entertainment and action, and they delivered. We will break down our top three picks for tonight’s NBA action. Similar to fantasy sports, the goal in Sleeper Picks is to draft a team of players based on who you think will perform better than the field. But with Sleeper Picks, you pick teams of 2-8 players from multiple teams based on your preferences and predict whether those players will score more or less than a predetermined amount. There are a number of ways to play and a variety of strategies to employ, and we’ll guide you through the process each week.

NBA Sleeper Picks Player Predictions (11/27/23)

Season record: 43-23

Zion Williamson (F – NOP): OVER 25.5 points

Zion is expected back in the lineup for tonight’s game after sitting out on Saturday due to rest. Averaging 23.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.3 blocks, Zion is in the midst of a strong season for the Pelicans. The initial lean here should be on the Less due to the point disparity. However, Zion has poured in 25 or more in four straight games and is facing a Utah Jazz team surrendering the third most points per game to the power forward position at 27.55 per contest. Roll with form and trends and tap the More on Zion for Monday night.

Buddy Hield (G – IND): OVER 17.5 points

Buddy Hield has caught fire since entering the starting lineup, scoring 24, 31, and 18 points in his three games as a starter. He will not stay as efficient as he has been during that three game stretch, but when Tyrese Halliburton is your point guard, you will continue to have your share of clean looks. Tonight, he gets the good fortune of facing a soft Portland Trail Blazers defense that has relinquished the fifth most points per game to the shooting guard position at 24.03 per contest. Roll with Hield while he is hot and bump the More for tonight’s plus matchup against the Blazers.

James Harden (G – LAC): OVER 7.5 assists

James Harden has started to click with his new Los Angeles Clippers teammates. After topping four assists just once in his first five games with the team, he has recorded seven or more in five straight. His shot isn’t falling consistently, but for the purposes of this total, that doesn’t affect us. Harden recorded nine or more assists in three straight before posting seven in Saturday’s contest against Dallas. He has averaged 8.6 assists per game over his last five. Tonight, he’ll face off against a Denver Nuggets team allowing 7.38 assists per game to the point guard position. The number is actually one of the top five in terms of limiting assists, but based on form and the player, the average allowed is still something to attack.

Writers note: The lines are constantly changing on Sleeper (and sometimes expiring), so there is a high probability that one or all of the numbers may no longer be the same when you open your app. There are excellent values when they are first posted, with the only catch being that they are not all released at the same time. Vigilance could provide a solid return on investment this season, literally.
