    Toronto Raptors vs. Indiana Pacers

The Toronto Raptors have only won the tip 46% of the time. But they’ve scored the first basket in 92% of games. Toronto has been extremely good at starting games and will likely continue against the Pacers.

Indiana is already coming off a game yesterday in which they combined for more than 300 points with the Atlanta Hawks. Now, they’ll have 24 hours to prepare for another game against the Raptors.

Meanwhile, the Pacers have only scored the first basket in 45% of games this season. They’ve also attempted the first shot attempt in 36% of games, which isn’t very high.

Although small forward Scottie Barnes hasn’t been the most consistent scorer on the Raptors early, he’s taken the first shot in 31% of games this season. He’s only nailed the first basket in 15% of games, which was two times. But he’s getting most of the volume game-to-game.

    Let’s ride with Barnes.

    Bet: Scottie Barnes (+650)

Los Angeles Clippers @ San Antonio Spurs

We had this same matchup on Monday. While I didn’t hit the right player for the first basket, I was right about the team taking the first shot.

The Clippers have only won the tip in 8% of games this season. Los Angeles has added the first field goal in only 33% of games and has attempted the first field goal in just 33% of games. These are some of the lowest rates in the NBA by far.

Meanwhile, the Spurs have earned 57% of the tip this season behind Victor Wembanyama. San Antonio has also nailed the first field goal in 50% of games this season and has attempted the first field goal in 43% of games.

I’ll side with the Spurs to get on the board first. In this same game on Monday, Victor Wembanyama scored first. However, bZach Collins took the first shot for the Spurs, but he didn’t score.

At this time, Devin Vassell is currently questionable. If he’s out of the game, Julian Champagnie would get the start for the Spurs. Vassell has 38% of the team’s first field goal attempts, so that would open up the scoring to other players. Next on the list is Collins, who took the first shot last time out but didn’t score.

Collins has taken the team’s first field goal attempt in 29% of games. He’s also drilled the team’s first field goal in 36% of games. He’s the guy we’ll be rolling with tonight.

    Bet: Zach Collins (+550)
