2025 Artist Exhibition

Lakers Host Art Exhibition Spotlighting Los Angeles Artists of Color

Downtown Art Exhibition Opens to the Public Feb. 8

The Los Angeles Lakers will host a four-week art exhibition spotlighting 10 artists of color from across the Los Angeles region.

The 2025 Lakers In the Paint collection features 36 new works of art, unified by the theme: How Expression Produces Triumph. The free exhibition opens Saturday, Feb. 8, at Band of Vices art gallery in the historic downtown arts district and will be on view Wednesdays through Saturdays, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. through March 15.

The exhibition artists are Abby Aceves, Estefania Ajcip, Jessica Taylor Bellamy, Daryll Cumbie, Derick Edwards, Megan Gabrielle Harris, Marlon Ivory, Larry Li, Ann Phong and Michael The Khoi Tran.

Each artist receives a $10,000 grant from the Lakers Youth Foundation to support their artistic career. Additionally, the artists will be celebrated at the Feb. 10 Lakers home game versus the Utah Jazz at Crypto.com Arena.

Since 2021, the Lakers have recognized more than 75 local creatives by showcasing their artwork and stories, purchasing works to diversify the look and feel of the Lakers UCLA Health Training Center and providing $400,000 in grants to help further individuals’ artistic endeavors.

The In the Paint program is made possible with support from Lakers sponsors bibigo, Sixt, MGM Rewards, ProBaller and Poppi.
