Knicks Sign Isaiah Hartenstein

NEW YORK, July 12, 2022 – The New York Knicks announced today that the team has signed center Isaiah Hartenstein. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are very excited to welcome Isaiah Hartenstein to the Knicks family,” said Knicks president Leon Rose. “He’s a versatile big man who impacts the game on both ends of the floor and who plays with a passion and energy that is contagious.”

Hartenstein, 7-foot, 250 pounds, averaged 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 blocks over 17.9 minutes in 68 games with the LA Clippers last season. He shot 62.6-percent from the field and 46.7-percent from downtown on 30 attempts. 

The 24-year-old, holds career averages of 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 13.7 minutes in 165 games (four starts) over four seasons with Houston, Denver, Cleveland and LA Clippers. He was originally selected by Houston in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2017 NBA Draft, following a professional career in Lithuania. In 34 games with Zalgaris (LKL), he averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds over 11.3 minutes. He was born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, before moving to Germany at the age of 11, where his father played professionally.
