Preview: Knicks Go For Season Sweep in Philly

Game Info:

New York Knicks vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Wells Fargo Center (7 p.m.)

TV: MSG, Radio: ESPN NY 98.7

Knicks Report:

New York fell to the playoff-bound Hornets, 111-97, on Wednesday night at MSG. Derrick Williams (17 points and 10 rebounds) led six Knicks in double-figure scoring, but Kemba Walker's 34 were too much to overcome as Kurt Rambis' squad dropped its second-to-last home game.

Tonight, they'll go for the season sweep in Philadelphia, where they'll try to hand the Sixers their 69th loss of the year.

News and Notes:

  • Kristaps Porzingis (strained right shoulder) will miss his fifth straight game tonight. Williams has started each in his place, averaging 15 points and 6.3 boards in just under 30 minutes.
  • Carmelo Anthony played almost 38 minutes against Charlotte, scoring 15 points on 14 shots with 7 assists and 6 rebounds. The starting backcourt of Jerian Grant and Sasha Vujacic combined to score 30 points on 11-of-16 shooting.
  • In danger of tying the 1972-73 Sixers' record for most losses in a season (73), tonight marks the first of four opportunities for Brett Brown's club to avoid history by picking up one more win. After hosting the Bucks on Sunday, they'll finish the season with a back-to-back in Toronto and Chicago.
  • Injuries have ravaged Philadelphia's already young and inexperienced roster this season; Joel Embiid has missed his second straight year recovering from foot surgery, and fellow former No. 3 overall pick Jahlil Okafor played just 53 games before undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
  • Nerlens Noel (11.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game) missed six straight games with a knee injury before returning in Tuesday's 107-93 win over New Orleans. Carl Landry scored 22 points on 9-for-10 shooting to lead the way.
