2015-16 Season In Review: Lou Amundson

Playing for his 10th NBA team, veteran big man averaged 1.8 ppg, 1.7 rpg and shot .358 (19‐53) over 7.0 mpg in 29 games off the bench in 10th pro season...Went 14‐27 FTA (.519)...Season Highs: Points: 10 (Dec. 9 at Utah); Assists: 2 (twice); Rebounds: 6 (Nov. 13 vs. Cleveland)...Second season in NY marked just the fourth time in his career in which well‐traveled front‐liner appeared with the same team for two straight years...Came off the bench in all 29 of his games, after making 35 starts (in 41 games) as a Knick in 2014‐15.

Notched one double‐digit scoring game (10 pts at Utah, Dec. 9); logged double‐figure minutes six times...Appeared in nine of 10 NYK games from Nov. 10‐27; nine of 15 games from Jan. 12‐Feb. 7, and in seven of season’s final 17 contests from Mar. 9‐Apr. 12...Played in 400th career NBA game on Nov. 10 at Toronto.

Missed a total of 12 games due to injury/illness: four due to sore lower back, five in December due to low back spasms, and three in February due to upper respiratory illness...Was a DNP (CD) 35 times, listed as inactive 15 times.

Barbershop:On Jan. 4, 2016, one day before the first anniversary of his initial acquisition by NY, was shorn of the trademark long hair and ponytail he had worn since his freshman year at UNLV...Quoting Lou: “Change is good. I feel good. I had this haircut freshman year in college. It reminds me of those days when I look in the mirror. Being defined by a look, it’s not what it’s about. It’s what I have inside.”

Key Games: Nov. 11: Perfect shooting night with 4‐4 FGA, 1‐1 FTA for nine points, adding four rebounds in 14 bench minutes in loss at Charlotte. Nov. 13: Logged a season‐high 20 bench minutes in loss to Cavs, with season‐high six rebounds and one point (0‐1 FGA, 1‐2 FTA). Nov. 17: Left game vs. Hornets with scalp laceration after fourth‐quarter collision with Marvin Williams (FF2) and did not return...Scoreless (0‐1 FGA) in eight bench minutes prior to injury.

Dec. 9: Scored season‐high 10 points (4‐6 FGA) with four rebounds and career‐high‐tying three steals in 10 bench minutes in loss at Utah.

Jan. 23: Fouled out in just 12:52 off the bench in loss at Charlotte (2 pts, 1‐1 FGA, 3 reb), recording Knicks’ quickest DQ of 2015‐16 season.

Apr. 12: Scored two points (0‐2 FGA, 2‐2 FTA) with two rebounds over eight bench minutes in season‐ending loss at Indiana.
