Marvin Bagley III sidelined 4-6 weeks with fractured right thumb

Kings' center suffered the injury during the team's season opener

Marvin Bagley III was selected by the Kings with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Sacramento Kings will be without center Marvin Bagley III for the next 4-6 weeks due to a non-displaced fracture in his right thumb, the team announced on Thursday.

Bagley sustained the injury during the Kings' opening night loss to the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday.

The 20-year-old center averaged 14.9 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks over 62 games during his rookie season in 2018-19. He was selected by the Kings with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

The Kings' next game is against the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday (10 ET, League Pass).
