Harrison Barnes Donates 15 Tickets For Every Home Game To Boys & Girls Clubs
Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco to Attend Tomorrow’s Game Against Atlanta

Golden State Warriors rookie small forward Harrison Barnes will donate 15 tickets for every Warriors home game this season to a Boys & Girls Club in the Bay Area as part of the Harrison Barnes Tickets for Education Program, the team announced today. Each game, the program will host 15 Club members that have excelled academically during the 2012-13 school year. For tomorrow’s game against the Atlanta Hawks, Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco will be in attendance. The Harrison Barnes Tickets for Education Program will rotate to a different Bay Area Boys & Girls Club throughout the regular season and Club members will sit in a designated seating area named “Falcon’s Nest,” after Barnes’ nickname The Black Falcon. Other participating Boys & Girls Clubs include Alameda, Diablo Valley, El Sobrante, Mid-Peninsula, Oakland, San Leandro and West Contra Costa/San Pablo.

“The Boys & Girls Club is something I was a part of when I was younger, and now that I am in this position that I am in now, it is a good opportunity for me to give back,” said Barnes. “There are Boys & Girls Clubs all over the country, and I always wanted to do something with my Ames, Iowa branch, but I also want to do something with the kids out here in the Bay Area that would promote education and also allow kids the opportunity to see me and the Warriors play against some of the best players in basketball.”

Harrison Barnes, an alumnus of the Boys & Girls Club in Ames, Iowa, from third to eight grades, will greet Boys & Girls Club of San Francisco members on the court tomorrow during pregame shoot-around and take pictures with the youth.

“We’re so grateful to Harrison for creating this special opportunity for Club members in the Bay Area,” said Frank Sanchez, vice president, sports, entertainment & alumni development. “He is motivating young people to do well in school and setting a great example by giving back to the local community.”

Boys & Girls Club of America annually serves 4 million young people through membership and community outreach, with a vision towards enabling all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
