Recovering, the Thunder Way

Debbie Thompson was convalescing from surgery last fall. Off work and relegated to her home, she started catching Thunder games on TV. That’s all it took for her to get hooked -- something this non-sports enthusiast never would have predicted for herself.

“Now, I'm a middle-aged woman who reads the sports page, checks out NBA.com, stays up so late to watch West Coast games and -- after our first win against the Lakers, Houston, Dallas and Boston -- seriously thought about writing a fan letter to our guys!” she said.

“All this from a person who until last year followed …. uh, ice skating.”

A resident of Bethany, OK., Debbie said she is especially impressed by the humility and strong work ethic of Thunder players and coaches.

“You can tell they are of fine character,” she said.
