Being a Thunder fan in the Australian hamlet of Kangaroo Flat sounds like it might be something of a challenge. Not so, according to 34-year-old Australian schoolteacher and Thunder loyalist Brad Topp-Lowe.
“Due to the Internet, these days I feel like I can be part of it,” said Brad. As for watching games, the time difference between the U.S. and Australia often means that the Thunder is on the hardwood during Brad’s morning at work.
“I put the game-cast on and sneak a look on my laptop every few minutes while teaching,” confessed the 34 year old.
Brad said his connection to the team is strong, even though the closest he’s ever come to Oklahoma is when his oldest son spent a year in Tulsa as a foreign-exchange student.
“The way the Thunder has gone about building the team for long-term success has been fantastic,” said Brad.
“We are on the right track. I think that everyone, from the coaches and administration down, cares about the quality of the individual and not just their basketball skills. We are a down-to-earth team that has genuine talent, but we are also a great bunch of people who are willing to do what it takes to be successful.”
