Thunder Announces Preseason Games in Tulsa and Wichita

OKLAHOMA CITY, March 15, 2013 – The Oklahoma City Thunder will return to Tulsa, OK and Wichita, KS during the 2013 preseason, the team announced today. The Thunder will host the New Orleans Pelicans at the BOK Center on Oct. 17th followed by a contest versus the Chicago Bulls at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita on Oct. 23.

“The entire Thunder organization, from players to coaches to staff, thoroughly enjoyed our previous experiences in Tulsa and Wichita, so we are thrilled to return,” said Brian Byrnes, senior vice president of Sales and Marketing for the Thunder. “The energy in the buildings and the overwhelming support of the fans was tremendous. We are excited to have another opportunity to enhance our connection to Thunder fans in the region."

This will mark the fifth time the Thunder has visited the BOK Center for a preseason game. Meanwhile, the Thunder is set to visit Wichita for a second consecutive season.

Tickets for both preseason games will go on sale next month on the arenas' websites (BOK Center: https://www.bokcenter.com and INTRUST Bank Arena: https://intrustbankarena.com).

As previously announced, the Thunder will also take part in the NBA’s global games preseason schedule with an Oct. 5 matchup with Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul, Turkey and an Oct. 8 contest against the Philadelphia 76ers in Manchester at the Manchester Arena.

The Thunder will announce the remainder of its 2013 preseason schedule at a later date.
