2014-15 Schedule Announced for Thunder's D-League Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, Sept. 9, 2014 – The NBA Development League released its schedule for the 2014-15 season Tuesday with the Oklahoma City Thunder’s D-League team tipping off the year at the Cox Convention Center against the Maine Red Claws on Nov. 14.

After relocating to Oklahoma City this past summer, the Thunder’s D-League affiliate will begin the 2014-15 season by playing five of its first six games at home. The family-friendly schedule will feature 24 home games, including 14 set to be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The Thunder’s D-League affiliate will host 20 home games at the Cox Convention Center along with four games at Chesapeake Energy Arena, beginning with a noon contest against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on March 8. On March 10, the D-League affiliate will face the Santa Cruz Warriors in an 11 a.m. kids day game on the Thunder's home court. The D-League club will also play home games at Chesapeake Energy Arena on March 15 against the Grand Rapids Drive and March 22 against the Delaware 87ers.

The schedule includes 24 road contests along with a pair of neutral-site games to be played at the annual NBA D-League Showcase, which will be announced at a later date. The Thunder’s D-League affiliate will face 16 teams throughout the season, including 15 different opponents at home.

Since the Thunder began operating a single-affiliate D-League team in the 2008, Oklahoma City has assigned 14 players to its affiliate a total of 63 times - the most assignments by an NBA team during that span.
