Kristin Chenoweth to Sing National Anthem Thursday

OKLAHOMA CITY, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 – The Oklahoma City Thunder announced today that Emmy and Tony Award-winner and Oklahoma native Kristin Chenoweth will be the team’s special guest on Thursday night as the Thunder hosts the Dallas Mavericks. The Oklahoma City University graduate will perform the national anthem prior to enjoying the game at Chesapeake Energy Arena. This will be the first time Chenoweth has attended a Thunder home game.

Chenoweth is an avid Thunder fan, often using her Twitter account to promote her love of the team. She was also spotted the day after Thanksgiving doing holiday shopping inside the Thunder Shop at Chesapeake Arena. In April, Chenoweth joined Rumble the Bison for an appearance on the Ellen Show, bringing host Ellen DeGeneres a multitude of Thunder gifts and merchandise.

Best known on Broadway for her performances in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Wicked; Chenoweth hails from Broken Arrow, OK. She also has had numerous TV and film roles.THUNDER NOTES

· Oklahoma City native and child actor Mason Cook will make a pregame appearance on Thursday at the Devon Thunder Kids Club area outside Sec. 103 at 5:45 p.m. Cook is best known for his role in last summer’s “Spy Kids” film. He will also appear in “The Long Ranger”, starring Johnny Depp.
