Serge Ibaka Named to NBA All-Defensive First Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, June 2, 2014 – Thunder forward Serge Ibaka was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team for the 2013-14 season, the NBA announced earlier today.

Ibaka joins Chris Paul as the only players to receive First Team All-Defensive honors in each of the last three seasons.

During the 2013-14 season, Ibaka led the NBA in total blocked shots for a fourth consecutive season, joining Dikembe Mutombo as the only players in league history to accomplish such a feat.

Ibaka appeared in 81 games for Oklahoma City this past season as the Thunder held the opposition to the third lowest field goal percentage in the NBA (.436).

The voting panel consisted of 123 writers and broadcasters from the U.S. and Canada. Two points were awarded for a First Team vote and one point was awarded for a Second Team vote.

Below are the results for the 2013-14 NBA All-Defensive Teams balloting. The balloting was tabulated by the independent accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP.
