SPURS ANNOUNCE 2016 LAS VEGAS SUMMER LEAGUE ROSTER

SAN ANTONIO (July 8, 2016) — The San Antonio Spurs today announced their roster for the 2016 Las Vegas Summer League, which will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. This year’s summer league roster features Spurs forwards Kyle Anderson and Jonathon Simmons. In his second season with San Antonio, Anderson appeared in 78 games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16.0 minutes. In last year's Las Vegas Summer League, the former UCLA Bruin was named the MVP after averaging 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.10 steals in 27.3 minutes over seven games, helping the Spurs win the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League Championship. In his first season with the Spurs, Simmons saw action in 55 games, averaging 6.0 points and 1.7 rebounds in 14.8 minutes. In last year's Las Vegas Summer League, the former Houston Cougar averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.71 steals in 24.6 minutes. Simmons was named MVP of the championship game, finishing with a team-high 23 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in 24 minutes. Several other Spurs prospects are included on the roster, including San Antonio’s 2016 first round draft pick Dejounte Murray and Cady Lalanne, who the Silver and Black selected in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft. Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon will have head coaching responsibilities in Las Vegas for the second straight year. Complete coverage of the Spurs summer league action, including box scores, photos and game summaries, will be available at spurs.com.
