Silver & Black Give Back Announces Spurs and Rampage Fiesta Medal Contest Winners

SAN ANTONIO (Dec. 8, 2015) – Silver & Black Give Back announced today that Ryan Cano and Jason Smith are the winners of the first-ever San Antonio Spurs and Rampage Fiesta® medal design contests, after their artwork was voted the favorite by each team’s fans. The designs will be turned into collectible medals in time for the 2016 Fiesta® San Antonio season, with all proceeds benefitting Silver & Black Give Back (SBGB). Cano’s winning Spurs design features the tail of the trademark Spurs logo, above the words “FIESTA 2016”, displayed on a dog tag-shaped medal. The artwork includes Spurs Sports & Entertainment’s signature silver and black, surrounded by San Antonio’s retro fiesta color scheme.

Smith’s winning Rampage creation displays T-Bone in the foreground of the downtown San Antonio skyline, with “Fiesta 2016” written across the iconic Alamo Mission chapel at top center. The team mascot holds two hockey sticks and is surrounded by festive confetti that morphs into the word “RAMPAGE” at the bottom of the medal. For his submission, Cano will receive four tickets to the Spurs-Los Angeles Clippers game on Dec. 18, a special fan experience including being named honorary Co-Captain of the game, a customized San Antonio Spurs jersey, an SBGB swag bag and 10 Spurs Fiesta® medals. Smith will receive four tickets to the Rampage-Charlotte Checkers game tomorrow night, a special fan experience that includes participation in the ceremonial puck drop, a customized San Antonio Rampage jersey, an SBGB swag bag and 10 Rampage Fiesta® medals. Cano and Smith’s medal designs round out a three-piece collection from Spurs Sports & Entertainment. The San Antonio Stars tipped off the first-ever series of Fiesta® medals from Spurs Sports & Entertainment in July. The winning design can be seen onSAStars.com. Limited numbers of all three medals will be available for purchase for $10 beginning March 15, in-arena at Section 105 or online at SBGB.org. Silver & Black Give Back is a nonprofit partner of the Fiesta® San Antonio Commission.
